SELA and MasContainer sign agreement for the promotion of international trade and logistics activities

The Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) and MasContainer have formalised the signing of a cooperation agreement, thus consolidating a strategic collaboration. By virtue of this agreement, our platform will become one of the main channels through which SELA will disseminate the advances in economic projects, as well as everything related to security, infrastructure and port modernisation in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The signing, which was attended by the Permanent Secretary of SELA, Ambassador Clarems Endara, and the CEO of MasContainer, Jorge Opazo Aballay, is part of the work conducted by the Network of Digital and Collaborative Ports throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

"The possibility of sharing areas such as the promotion of foreign trade, brings us together through an agreement in which we hope to shape in an interactive way the socialisation of all the activities that SELA is carrying out, and in all those that MasContainer is interested in participating in", said Ambassador Endara.

He added that "in current times, where communication mechanisms and social networks are so interactive, half of the work is to make known what one does to reach the relevant audience; and that is where we see a great potential with MasContainer to reach that public that is waiting to see what is being done in the region and to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants through economic recovery and public policies carried out by the countries. It is also to know about the infrastructure investment capabilities that we are trying to promote through best practices and solid exchange programmes.”

During the signing of the document, the Permanent Secretary of SELA, Ambassador Clarems Endara, stressed that “we are working on the economic recovery of the region and half of the work is to communicate, which is why this agreement with MasContainer is so important, for the exchange and visibility of contents.”

For his part, Jorge Opazo commented that “MasContainer is proud to have the opportunity to support SELA, a task that for us is an important responsibility considering that our goal is to effectively connect the entire community that is related to foreign trade in Central America, Latin America and Ibero-America, which is basically where our focus is and where we centre our communication.”

The founder of MasContainer took advantage of the ceremony to highlight the work of Sabah Zrari, executive director of the International Institute of Ports and Cities, commenting that "she was one of those who motivated us, since she is almost part of the beginnings of MasContainer, especially when we proposed this mission, which was to democratise information related to foreign trade and logistics, delivering quality work to all those who are related to this chain.”

The agreement signed between SELA and MasContainer will have from now on a profound impact on the dynamism that is intended to give to the logistics and foreign trade sector in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The signing ceremony was attended by José Miguel Rovira, Coordinator of the Economic Recovery Area of SELA; Elisabet Torres, Economic Recovery Analyst of SELA; and Sabh Zrari, Executive Director of the International Institute of Ports and Cities, member of the Network of Digital and Collaborative Ports of SELA.

The agreement is part of the work being conducted by the Network of Digital and Collaborative Ports, which includes various activities, such as the organisation and promotion of events, as well as the generation of contents such as notes, columns, interviews and articles related to economic issues in the region.
