SELA and SEGIB define issues to build a joint work agenda

The Permanent Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), Ambassador Clarems Endara, met with the Ibero-American Secretary General, Andrés Allamand, to agree on a joint work agenda to avoid duplication of efforts and to respond to the needs of the region.

“It is important to work on the migration issue from a perspective that highlights the contribution of migration to the productive development of countries,” said the Permanent Secretary of SELA, who also detailed the progress of the guide on cultural industries in the region that is currently being developed by the organisation. He also underscored South-South and Triangular Cooperation as another issue where closer cooperation with SEGIB is possible.

For his part, the Ibero-American Secretary General, Andrés Allamand, stressed the importance of working together on these issues and advancing in a joint line of work. “It is very interesting that we have these three issues together and it is very important to maintain communication in order to continue advancing in synergy,” he pointed out.

SELA and SEGIB have made progress in identifying areas of interest in order to define lines of work to coordinate efforts in favour of the development and integration of the region.
