Background

The Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) of the Organisation of American States (OAS), through its Technical Advisory Committee on Port-City Relations, Social Responsibility and Gender Equality, is co-organising, together with the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) and the Network of Women Maritime Authorities of Latin America (Red MAMLa), the “IV Hemispheric seminar on port-city relations, social responsibility and gender equality.”

This event will aim to promote dialogue and cooperation among port authorities, international organisations, and representatives from the private sector and civil society in order to move towards more humane, inclusive, and sustainable ports. Over the course of two days, key topics will be addressed, including: port-city integration, social responsibility, innovation, gender equality, environmental management, and human capital development.

Furthermore, the event will aim to promote the exchange of experiences and best practices with a view to stimulating and strengthening strategic and institutional partnerships in line with the CIP-OAS mandates on port sustainability, inclusion, and resilience.

The seminar will be facilitated by a team of panellists made up of renowned managers who are specialists in the topics covered in the working agenda.
