SELA interns committed to regional integration

The Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) continues to strengthen its #SELAPasantes programme, which aims to consolidate the training of professionals, strengthen the linkage of new generations with the organisation and promote compliance with the multi-year Work Programme of the organisation.

The Permanent Secretary of SELA, Clarems Endara, met with the organisation's interns to explain the multi-year Work Programme, the objectives, projects and tasks that SELA addresses in order to make progress towards the sustainable development and integration of the region.

Ambassador Clarems Endara explained the progress made by the organisation in its cooperation with member countries and detailed that integration “moves at different paces.” However, the role of the #SELAPasantes programme is a cornerstone to achieve the objectives set.

“This is a space to dream and to build consensus... our satisfaction will be the contribution we make to the integration of the region,” Ambassador Endara said.

The interns described their experience at SELA as very enriching and expressed their willingness to provide the organization with what is necessary to comply with the Work Programme approved by the Latin American Council in November last year.

The #SELAPasantes programme so far has eight students assigned to the various working areas of the organization, namely: María Hernández, Claudia Lara, Carlos Salvucci, Andrés Sanabria, Katherine Franco, Maylin Sánchez, Alejandra Rodríguez, María Terán, Jean Simón Misrael and Rosemary Morales.
