SELA and Venezuela promote regional cooperation

The Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) and Venezuela, as a Member State, continue to coordinate efforts for regional cooperation, sustainable development and economic recovery of the countries in the region, especially affected by the consequences of the pandemic.

The Permanent Secretary of SELA, Clarems Endara, held a meeting with the Venezuelan Vice-Minister for Latin America, Rander Peña, to strengthen cooperation ties for the integration of the region.

Ambassador Clarems Endara detailed SELA's multi-year Programme, which focuses on three areas of work: Economic Recovery, Digitalisation and Social Development, as approved by the Latin American Council in November last year.

During the meeting, the joint work agenda with Venezuela was reviewed in order to strengthen cooperation ties for the integration of the countries in the region.

Venezuela has been a Member State of the organisation since January 1976, with which it has always maintained an effective coordination for the well-being of the region, and its capital, Caracas, is the official headquarters of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA).
