SELA congratulates Gabriel Boric on his election as new president of Chile

The Permanent Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), Ambassador Clarems Endara, welcomes the swearing-in of the president-elect of Chile, Gabriel Boric Font, to whom he reiterates his commitment to deepen cooperation for the integration of Latin America and wishes him every success in his new term of office

Gabriel Boric Font was sworn in on Friday as the youngest president of the Andean country, at 36 years of age. He takes over from outgoing President Sebastián Piñera. During the solemn act, in which he received the presidential sash, Boric said: “We are going to give the best of ourselves to rise to the challenges we have as a country.”

Chile is one of the 25 Member States of SELA participating in the execution of the organization’s new Work Programme, aimed at strengthening the design of public policies to improve the living conditions of citizens, for more and better integration.
