Sela and Eclac to hold seminar on integration in Mexico

 

The Permanent Secretariat of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), jointly with the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), is organizing the Seminar: Prospective Vision of Latin American and Caribbean Integration", to be held in Mexico City on 06 and 07 March 2018.

The main objective of this activity is to examine the current and future status of integration processes in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). For this purpose, it will count on the participation of experts in the various mechanisms, as well as international agencies, who will submit analyses of the challenges posed by the international environment to intra-regional trade and regional integration.

There will also be an exchange of views on the regional efforts and measurement instruments in LAC and other regions of the world. Similarly, a reflection will take place on the potential for future development of the integration mechanisms and the main lines of action suggested in order to forge stronger links within the region.

Participants will include high-level officials from important regional mechanisms, such as: SELA, ECLAC, MERCOSUR, CAN, CARICOM, PACIFIC ALLIANCE, OECD; SIECA; ALADI; SEGIB; INTAL-IDB, ECA, ECE and CAF.

Thus, the Permanent Secretariat of SELA and ECLAC have been promoting activities and researches that expand knowledge about the advancement of the integration process and its corresponding strengthening in different subjects of interest for Latin American and Caribbean governments.
