Introduction

Currently, gender barriers in the labour market in Latin America and the Caribbean represent an obstacle to the insertion of women in highly skilled and leadership-intensive sectors. According to the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), in 2021 women held only 15% of managerial positions and owned only 14% of enterprises.

The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the labour market, accentuating the gender gap even further. In this regard, it is necessary to promote practices that encourage the inclusion of women in non-traditional sectors, as well as the promotion of more equitable spaces.

Objectives
  • To disseminate best practices of women's entrepreneurship, as well as the implementation of programmes that support women's insertion in the labour market in Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • To present the current regional context on women-led entrepreneurship.
  • To generate a space for discussion to identify strengths and weaknesses in the regional gender equity strategy.
  • To present the training strategy with a gender approach programmed by SELA.
Aimed at

Public and private organisations, companies and entrepreneurs who wish to acquire knowledge and tools to promote the integration of women into the labour market and the creation of more inclusive spaces with more opportunities for women in the region.
