SELA signs cooperation agreement with OLADE

Within the framework of the VII Energy Week OLADE 2022, the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) for the development of coordinated activities with emphasis on the promotion and strengthening of integration, as well as energy and socio-economic development at the regional level.

Considering that energy plays a fundamental role in the socio-economic development of Latin America and the Caribbean and in the consolidation of regional integration, given its direct impact on industrialization and the improvement of the human development index, SELA and OLADE committed themselves to maintain permanent cooperation relations in the areas of energy and socio-economic development within the framework of their mandates and competences.

Integration, training, research, energy and port development, socio-economic and energy policies and planning, risk diagnostics in energy systems and their socio-economic impact, are some of the areas of cooperation included in the agreement signed between SELA and OLADE.

The signing of the Cooperation Agreement between both organisations took place in Panama City, where the VII Energy Week will be held until 16 December, bringing together authorities and leaders of the energy sector of Latin America and the Caribbean in what is considered the main event of the energy sector at the regional level.
