introduction

The Permanent Secretariat of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) and the Inter-American Conference on Social Security (CISS) are organizing the "XXXI Meeting of International Cooperation Directors for Latin America and the Caribbean: Unity and solidarity against the pandemic". This activity is aimed at assessing the actions of international cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean in the context of the pandemic and analyzing mechanisms to make it more effective and efficient in the short term.

Objectives

This virtual activity aims to: i) Exchange information and experiences in cooperation during the COVID-19 pandemic, the strengths and weaknesses in terms of cooperation (what Member States can offer and demand); ii) provide a space for dialogue and exchange of supply and demand for cooperation in the context of the pandemic, in the priority areas defined by the cooperation directors; and iii) assess the major problems and failures of international aid, how regional cooperation and solidarity is working and what elements should be corrected in the future, in the short and medium term.
