 Mexico to Expand Presence in Meat Industry Russia

Moscow, August 2 (PL)- Mexican Beef group exposed the strategy and reasons for increasing today its presence in Russia, consuming 23 percent of Mexican exports of meat, with sales to this country seven times largest than 2010.
Just from January to April this year, Mexican meat sales this nation grew by 70 percent from 2011, said the presidetn of the Mexican Meat Exporters Association (MBEA), also known as Mexican Beef, Reynaldo Tovar.
Shipments to this nation spent 9, 784 tonnes in May 2011 to 17,000 in May this year, while monetary terms sales rose from 14 million 800, 000 dollars in 2010, when Mexico entered this market, 117 million last year, he said.
Russia is in the second place, behind the United States, among the countries of destination of the Mexican meat, with 53 percent of the total, but is above Japan, with 18, and South Korea with four, said Tovar at a conference in this capital.
He also said that any way the Mexican Beef, a group created in 2000 by 17 companies, is preparing to move the Russian meat producers, but will seek to compete with foreign exporters established in this market.
Tovar told Prensa Latina that to overcome competition, Mexican companies show their process efficiency, quality products, competitive prices, excellent service and reliability in dealings with customers.
Such conditions made the MBEA strong in Mexico, as there are countries like Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay that export products to Russia since a long time. Without the abovementioned parameters, it would be difficult to grow at the rate mentioned in this country, he said.
Furthermore, the feeding of cattle with corn, a balanced diet supervised by nutritionists and unused GM joins a national health control and requiring the country to which Mexican meat exports, he said.
Mexican Beef held a tasting of his flesh in a hotel in this capital, where Tovar announced that the group will participate with their products at a fair of culinary Russian companies in September.
