The Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) is pleased to announce that the first issue of SELA’s bulletin ENLACE de Cooperación Internacional is already available to its Member States and the general public.

This quarterly bulletin is being published through electronic means in compliance with the mandate set forth by our Member States in the Work Programme of the Permanent Secretariat of SELA for the year 2008, regarding the convenience of creating an Electronic Bulletin on International Cooperation in order to provide a virtual space in which Technical Cooperation Directors for Latin America and the Caribbean can share and exchange views, information and materials concerning this subject. In this connection, the creation and use of interactive communication tools will contribute to disseminate information about specific breakthroughs, encourage dialogue on this subject, generate synergies, and spread knowledge, so as to grab the attention of the largest possible number of sectors.

With this new bulletin, the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) continues with the efforts it undertook since its very inception in October 1975 to produce a number of regular publications containing analytical essays authored by experts in the different topics related to international cooperation, integration processes, technical cooperation, international economic relations, globalization, poverty and social equity, migrations and remittances, among other subjects of interest. It has also maintained analytical and informative publications on current topics related to the activities and evolution of regional integration and the international economic agenda.

Throughout its existence, “Capítulos” became a forum that gathered the highest representatives of the Latin American thinking concerning the integration, cooperation and development processes in Latin America and the Caribbean.
