SELA to organize forum in Caracas: "Status of integration process in Latin America and Caribbean"

Caracas, 24 November 2015.- On the occasion of the celebration of the XLI Meeting of the Latin American Council, the Permanent Secretariat of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), held on November 26, the forum: "Status of integration process in Latin America and Caribbean", where an analysis that will enable participants to know the current position of the mechanisms of regional and sub regional integration, achieving its objectives and configuration of a Latin American and Caribbean economic space will be made.

This forum is being organized by the Permanent Secretariat, and will be important international speakers: Ankie Scott-Joseph (PhD), Professor, Department of Economics, University of the West Indies and Osvaldo Rosales Villavicencio, Master in Economics from the University of Chile and former Director of the Division of International Trade and Integration of ECLAC, an organization affiliated to the United Nations.

The Permanent Secretariat is developing systematic studies on the mechanisms of integration of Latin American and Caribbean region, by assessing the progress in coordination and convergence, for the recognition of the main opportunities and challenges as well as the status Current mechanisms of integration in the economic area in Latin America and the Caribbean.
