SELA to hold Webinar with South Korea on how to overcome COVID-19

On Monday 18 May 2020, the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) will hold the Webinar entitled “Korea-Latin America Cooperation: Learnings for Overcoming COVID-19”, a briefing held jointly with the Korean Council on Latin America & the Caribbean (KCLAC), the Korean International Trade Association (KITA), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea (MOFA).

The Webinar will feature a panel made up by two Korean experts, including Dr. Seongju Oh, Senior Research Fellow at POSRI (POSCO Research Institute) and Dr. Jae-sung Kwak, Graduate School Professor of International Studies at Kyunghe University, who will address the Asian country’s best practices in the treatment of coronavirus.

Participants will also be able to learn about the economic impact of COVID-19 on Latin America and the prospects for recovery, in a presentation that will be made by Dr. Ignacio Bartesaghi, Dean of the Faculty of Business Sciences of the Catholic University of Uruguay (UCU).

This exchange will also serve to assess how the twenty-six Member States of SELA could take advantage of the South Korean experiences in the field of intra-regional cooperation.
